Research

Department of Pathology was established in 1946. We currently specialize in experimental pathology, with a focus on research and education.
Our research interest is to elucidate the mechanisms of diseases, particularly cancer development, progression, and metastasis. Our research is conducted using a wide variety of methods, including biochemical, molecular, and cell biological methods, as well as histopathological examination. Not only cultured cell lines but also mouse models of disease are employed. Especially in cancer research, we are currently interested in research using several kinds of transplantation models.
